Frey Angus Ranch had its beginnings in the early 1950's where it was initially started by Allen E. Frey, the late father of present owners and sons; Lynn, Arlen and Edward Frey. The operation is located in North Central North Dakota near Granville. The Black Angus cowherd consists of 400 females of breeding age originating from foundation females rich in Eileenmere and western Canadian breeding.
2025 will be the 50th Annual Production Sale for Frey Angus Ranch scheduled for Sunday, February 2nd. The ranch will be selling 100 Registered Yearling bulls and 25 Registered Bred Heifers.
In addition to be a reliable source of breeding cattle for a number of the areas top commercial cattlemen, the operation has seen bulls purchased by purebred breeders as well as Al studs. The operation has exhibited pen and carload champions at the National Western Stock Show and the Cattlemens Congress in Oklahoma. Frey Angus also bred and exhibited the 2002 National Western Grand Champion Bull, FAR Krugerrand 410H.
The offering is very unique in the fact that a number of sires are represented with many having been bred by the Freys. They are consistent in type and kind. The Freys have strived to select and breed cattle that meet their criteria for structural soundness, performance and look. All bulls and females are DNA tested for genomic-enhanced EPD's, parentage verification and are free of genetic defects.
